Crystal Harris, 47 of Parlin, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 surrounded by her loved ones.  She will be remembered by all who knew her as a loving, warm, caring and gentle spirit who loved nothing more than spending time with her family and praising the Lord.

Crystal was the second child born to Shelton and Aurora Mason.  Crystal was born at Jacoby Hospital in the Bronx, NY, on January 29, 1972.  As a child, she lived in Washington, DC and more recently Atlanta, Georgia: however, Crystal primarily resided in New York City and New Jersey throughout her life.  Crystal was primarily educated in the New York City Public School System and after graduating high school, she set her sights on the medical field.  She earned her Bachelor's degree in the field of Nursing and began a rewarding career.  Over the years, Crystal worked on both sides of the nursing field.  As an administrator, as well as providing compassionate care for her patients.  She loved being an LPN and took great pride in the various positions held throughout her rewarding nursing career.

On October 25, 1995 Crystal was to married her friend and confidant Mr. Clifford Harris.  Crystal and Cliff had on child together Ms. Briana K. Mason.  At an early age, while attending church with her uncle Joseph, Crystal accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and savior.  Throughout her battle Crystal was never concerned about her fate...she was very clear on that subject...In fact, after awakening from brain surgery she stated "I just want to tell you how good GOD has been to me during my life...I do not have much time here on earth...He's been such a great protector and provider...He covered me and had me when only he could."

Crystal was preceded in death by her father Shelton Mason, both maternal and paternal grandparents.

She is survived by her beloved daughter Briana K. Mason; her mother Ms. Aurora Mason; her brother Mr. Curtis Mason (Sonya Mason); her nephew Curtis Mason Jr.; her niece Jade Mason; her ex-husband Cliff Harris; her aunts Raffaela Rae and Angela Ballard; her uncles Shallow and Joseph Ballard and many cousins and friends whom all loved her dearly.

"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."  Say, "Father in Heaven, I believe that Jesus died for my sins," And God, will impart eternal life to your spirit.  Romans 10:13.  Crystal will be truly missed, but we will rejoice on this day, in all that she did for us and has meant to us in life.

Lovingly Submitted

  1. Bishop David Corbett, Mrs Lakisha Smith says:

A RESOLUTION OF RESPECT FOR MRS. CRYSTAL HARRIS
    • God, in his infinite wisdom has seen fit to move from our midst our beloved Crystal by means of death on January 8th, 2020..
    • We come together to pay our respects to the memory of one whose life was full of love and now is ended when Crystal was called to join God in heaven.
    • It pleases Almighty God to take our beloved Crystal to Her reward.
    • Whereas, Crystal accepted God at an early age and demonstrated throughout her life a sincere obedience to God.
    • Whereas, the passing of Crystal has left us deeply saddened, she will be missed but not forgotten.
    • Whereas, the words of Jesus in John 14, “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. IN my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that were I am, there ye may be also.”

    • Therefore be it resolved, that we embrace the family to show our support and love to the family because in the death of our beloved Crystal, we have a bond that will connect us for the rest of our lives. We cannot replace Crystal, but we will show you her love for you.
    • Be it further resolved that a period of official mourning be observed for 30 days by the displaying of Crystal’s picture on your favorite wall..
