INTERMENT
Private

Daniel K. Torres (aka I-Rule), age 51 of Long Branch, departed this life on Wednesday August 4, 2021.  He was born in Vicenza, Italy to George (aka Keoki) Torres Jr. and Casaundra Hastings.  He was raised in Long Branch, NJ by his mother and father Casaundra and Harold Hastings.

He attended the Long Branch Public School System. Daniel was affectionately called Danny by his family.  He was known as "I-Rule" Naheem Mature Life by his friends and the Five Percenters.  Danny was a giving and loving person and if Danny loved you, you knew it!  He considered everyone he loved to be his family.  He was a loving and devoted husband, a loving son, brother, father and stepfather.  He was adored and loved by all.  He was an inspiration to those who knew him.  He was a tireless and selfless man and if you needed anything you could always count on him.

Danny was always smiling, dancing and had a love for motorcycles.  Danny was a kind and gentle person that loved his dogs (Tyson, Rule, Sparky and his new grandpuppy TJ-Torres Junior).  He enjoyed life to the fullest.

Danny was an avid fisherman.  He was a co-founder of Shorenuff Fishing Club.  Danny was extremely passionate about fishing, it was his happy place.  Fishing was literally the last thing he was doing before he left us.  Danny was a very hard worker and a serial entrepreneur.  He previously owned his own trucking company and was very influential in others pursuing a career in trucking.

He was in the process of rebuilding his own handyman's business.  He was last employed by Capstone Logistics as a Forklift Operator.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother-Nora Ferguson, aunt Noreen Brown, uncles Rossi, Cootie and Trent Davis.

He is survived by his wife-Sukki (Sukkrene) Reed of Neptune, his mother Casaundra Hastings and dad Harold Hastings of Long Branch, his biological father-George Torres Jr. of Belleville, Illinois, his brother Kevin Davis (Keishauna) of Long Branch, his daughters Amiya and Essence Torres of Georgia, a large number of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews-Shamecca, Swiff, Iyana and Kevin, other loving close friends and family.
