Darryl Rice Sr. was born on July 7, 1956 in Neptune, NJ to the late Tarby Rice Sr. and Flora Rice-Gosha. He was called from labor to reward on April 19, 2019 in Perth Amboy, NJ.
He attended grammar school in Morganville and graduated from Marlboro High. He joined church at an early age. He was a member at Wicker Memorial Baptist Church in Morganville under the leadership of the late Rev. Calvin Woods. He worked as a construction worker, sanitation worker and did many odd jobs. Darryl is known for his big smile.
He was predeceased by his father Tarby Rice Sr., one brother Walter Rice, a sister Diana Rice-Kelly and a son Darryl Rice Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Flora Rice-Gosha, his two daughters Dorian (Greg) Truesdale and Jamillah Johnson; one son Victor Rice; his four grandchildren; five brothers Tarby Jr., Gary, Rod (Holly), Joel and Gregory Rice; one sister Denice Rice and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and a special friend Lamont Shivers.
