OBITUARY
SERVICE DETAILS
George Tyrone Hutchinson, affectionately known to many as "Jihad," peacefully departed this life on April 3, 2025, at the age of sixty-nine, at home after a lengthy illness. He fought a long, good fight with quiet strength and courage.
George was born on May 17, 1955, at the U.S. Army Hospital in Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. He was a compassionate man whose presence left an unforgettable mark on everyone who knew him. He was the beloved son of Pauline Hutchinson-Howell and the late Melvin Hutchinson, and the cherished stepson of the late Luther Howell. In addition to his father, George was joined in eternal life by his brother, Melvin Hutchinson (Karen) of Kansas City, Missouri.
George was educated in the Long Branch Public School System and graduated from Long Branch Senior High School. He worked at various dry cleaners in the Long Branch area, including in Millville, NJ. His most dedicated years were spent at Personal Touch Dry Cleaners in West End, NJ where he took great pride in his work.
A lifelong New York Giants fan, George loved sports and was known for his infectious sense of humor. He had a unique way of lighting up a room with his jokes and laughter.
Above all, George adored his daughters, lovingly calling them “My Queens.” Distance never dimmed his love for them. He also held his mother close to his heart. Their bond was truly special—rooted in love, respect, and a lifelong connection marked by unwavering closeness. She remained a constant source of strength and comfort throughout his life, and their relationship was a reflection of the deep and abiding love between a mother and son.
He is survived by his devoted mother, Pauline Hutchinson-Howell; his loving daughters; Tyisha, Latasha, and Eboni who will forever carry his spirit and strength in their hearts; his brother Kevin Hutchinson (Lisa); a loving Aunt Yvonne Hester and extended family members Curtis Bosworth & Barbara Kennedy of Springfield, MA. His legacy continues through his grandchildren Jaquez, Asia, Michael, Jahiem, Gianni, Dereak and Daevion, and five adored great-grandchildren Ashai, Zuri, Jayce, Avi, and Luna.
George leaves behind a loving family, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. His presence will be deeply missed by many!
