SERVICE DETAILS
George Rodney White was wonderfully known as “Rodney/Rod” that was born of January 26, 1947 to the late George M. White and Mary Ruth Carr-White in Blount County, Maryville, Tennessee. On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Rodney entered eternal rest and went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Rodney graduated from College of Automation in Des Moines, Iowa on March 24, 1967. In addition, he also graduated from Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ on December 20, 1974.
Rod was a devout Christian and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Red Bank, NJ serving as an usher, trustee, and choir member for many years. He was baptized at the age 12 in 1959 at the St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Alcoa, Tennessee. His favorite song that he loved to sing a solo to was “Something About the Name Jesus” by Bishop Rance Allen.
As a Computer Operator, Rodney was employed by L.F. Rothchild Company at the New York Stock Exchange in 1968. Then decided to continue his career at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, NJ on May 4, 1970, until retirement January 1, 2004.
In 1965 Rod met the love of his life Kathy Dudley. They were happily wedded on June 28, 1969, around their family and friends at Calvary Baptist Church. He was excited to tell everyone that his wife was pregnant and on May 5, 1975, they welcomed their son Shane Rodney White that was born within the union that lasted 57 years.
Rodney had various interests he enjoyed the hot weather, listening to music, washing his cars, cutting his grass, watching basketball games especially his favorite team “New York Knicks” in which he was fortunate to see the 2026 championship. He also loved a home cooked meal and would ask family and friends “What are you having for dinner.” The most beloved interest of all was being with his family and serving the Lord.
Kathy was the joy of his heart and Shane was the prideful son he loved. His daughter-in-law Daphne was the one he wanted to marry his son. Receiving his granddaughter Sarai which he called her “Pretty Pretty” and his grandson Jarett which he called him “JBoom” were one of his greatest gifts from God and were the apple of his eye. He loved spending money and time with them, teaching them tennis and basketball. He also loved and cared for his siblings, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He spoke highly of all his family and remembered the good times he had with everyone.
Rod will be missed and leaves behind his beloved wife Kathy White; his son Shane (Daphne) White; his grandchildren Sarai White and Jarett White; his sister Janice (Rob) Allen (Alcoa, TN); his brother Herchell B. White (Alcoa, TN) and a host of nephews Wade Nicholes (Tina), T.J. White, Herchell (Christian) White II, Martin (Kenyetta) White; his nieces Meghan White and Asia White; his God daughter Courtney Williams and her spouse; his great niece Kensley White and great nephew Cameron White and a host of cousins, aunts and friends.
George Rodney White left an impression on everyone, and he will be remembered forever as “Mr. Cool White” by many people and how smooth he was. Everyone will have wonderful memories of seeing him as loving and devoted spouse, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend.
