OBITUARY
SERVICE DETAILS
Harold J. Stovall, 81, of Long Branch, NJ was born November 5, 1938 to the late Jack and Myrtle Stovall in Halifax County, Virginia. On September 8, 2020 Harold was called home by the Lord.
Harold was united in holy matrimony to Emma Jean Miller on October 30, 1959; their union was blessed with ten children.
In the spring of 1963, Harold moved his family to Long Branch, NJ, where he worked at Artlin Mills Textile until it closed in the 1970's. Later, he found employment at various construction companies; Silverstein & Silverstein, Dunn Construction and Brooks & Brooks as a brick mason.
Harold was known as a quiet man but when he spoke everbody surely listened. Everyone knew him for his cooking skills and his heck of a shot, a true country boy living in a small city. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and more to all those around him. He was a survivor in all aspects; life, love, family and nature.
Harold is predeceased by his sisters Elizabeth Younger, Lucy B. Stovall, Pearl Petty and brother Jack Edward Stovall.
Harold's life will forever be remembered and cherished in the lives of his children Mildred Stovall & Vaiula Sagapolutele (son-in-law), Allen & Michelle Stovall (daughter-in-law), Joseph Stovall, Lola Stovall, Edith Stovall, Pattie Stovall of Long Branch, NJ; Jackie & Jack Blanton (son-in-law), Brenda & Nathaniel Cobbs (son-in-law) of Asbury Park, NJ; Marilyn & Gerald Lewis (son-in-law) of Nathalie, VA; and Ione Stovall of Brandywine, MD; his brother James Arthur Stovall and a host of devoted grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
