James Daniels was born to the late Eleanor Jackson and Eddie Daniels Sr. on February 18, 1957.

James lived in Long Branch, NJ for most of his life. That is where he met his wife, Dawn. That union joined two individual people to make one family that consisted of seven children: Darnell Toon (Delaware), Juanicia (Cotton) Everett (GA), Torey Toon (NJ), Belinda Foster (NJ), Johnnetta Everett (GA), LaToya Daniels (VA), and LaTandra (Bummy) Daniels (WVa). He moved to Georgia in 2014.

James was the neighborhood mechanic. Self-taught, he worked as an automotive mechanic for over forty years. He used those skills at the Long Branch Golf Course; Long Branch Sanitation Department; Brother’s Towing; Tony’s Garage; and Seman Tov Bus Company. When James moved to Georgia, within weeks he had a job at Cactus Car Wash, which later turned to Shiny Shell Car Wash, and Manheim Car Auction. He worked on many cats in the yard and at people’s houses and he charged next to nothing. He had a big heart. James also joined Crossroads for Life Ministries in Douglasville, Georgia. He loved to sing and dance. He spent hundreds of dollars on speakers and microphones.

James took the final bow of his journey after a brief illness on July 24, 2023.

James is predeceased by his mother, Eleanor Jackson, his father Eddie Daniels, Sr., his sister, Dorisraina Daniels (passed as a child), and his brother Willie Daniels, Sr.

He is survived by his wife; his seven children; his siblings Marion Parker, Mary Ann Daniels, Eddie Daniels, Jr., Eleanor Daniels, Carol Kennedy, Douglas Jackson, and Cornell Jackson; an Honorary brother Cleveland Williams (Fella); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
