OBITUARY
SERVICE DETAILS
James M. Gibson, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle, transitioned to heaven on the morning of September 3, 2024, after a long battle with his failed health.
James was born on March 16, 1950 to the late James and Nancy Gibson. James lived in Long Branch and Eatontown most of his life.
James was the oldest of fourteen siblings and when mom passed more than 20 years ago, James took over the role of maintaining the two houses she owned. He performed this service in excellence on behalf of the family for many years. Prior to his retirement, James worked for many years at the Ocean Place Hotel on the boardwalk.
In his leisure time, James enjoyed spending quality time talking and joking with family, especially his children and grandchildren. James regularly let his offspring know that he loved them, that he was proud of them, and he encouraged them when they needed it. James did his best to always be there when they needed him, whether for emotional support or financial support. He developed a strong father/daughter relationship with his "baby girl" Myesha.
James, also, enjoyed researching things on the internet and keeping up with both the local and national news. James was a very caring person who often contacted family members to check up on them.
James recognized the grace of God on his life, and he was thankful to Jesus for the years he lived and for the opportunity to turn his life around.
James is preceded in death by his parents James and Nancy Gibson, his brothers Randy and Ronald, his sister Mary.
James is survived by his son Jimmy, John and daughter Myesha; grandchildren Myesha Jr, Micaela, MyJhon and Dorothea; great grandchildren Myla, Miracle and Noah; four brothers Douglas, Larry, Robert and Donald (Diane); six sisters Jessie, Theresa, Peggy, Angela, Patricia and Monica; his long-term partner Sheila Meekins and a host of nieces and nephews whom he cherished. James was very grateful for his daughter Myesha who was by his side during his last months and for his niece Ayana, a nurse, who aided him greatly during this period of his life.
James will be missed and forever cherished by his family and friends.
My sincere condolences to the family and friends. May he Rest In Peaceš
