Jason Reynolds Perkins, affectionately known as 'Perk," from Neptune City, NJ passed away peacefully on April 12, 2020 at the age of 83.

Ray was born in Live Oak, Florida on October 13, 1936 to the union of Thomas Perkins and Mary Alice Keys Perkins.  He was raised in a Christian home and attended Delaware Church in Live Oak, FL.  He was the oldest of 6 siblings.

In the early years, Ray not only made sure that he arrived to the Schoolhouse on time, he graciously assumed the responsibility for getting his younger siblings to school with him since there was no childcare for the 5 others.  This was his start in taking care of and giving to his family.

Ray migrated to New Jersey in 1953 where he attended High School in Red Bank, NJ and in a few short years met and married the love of his life Evelyn (Howard) Perkins.  Ray worked hard all his life as a master carpet installer/technician.  Teaching his trade to his nephews and many others.  Always giving back to the family and his community.  Ray was a caring husband, brother, dad, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle who loved his family and took it upon himself to make sure all were taken care of.  To know Ray is to love him.  He was known as the patriarch of the family.  Always ready to receive family & friends so that he and Evie could enjoy family time.  His message to the family was to work hard, love unconditionally and always give back to others.

He leaves to share his memories, appreciation and love his wife Evelyn Perkins who loved and cared for him through it all; his daughter Sherry Crichlow (Kenneth), two grandchildren Tamara Crooks and Cameron Crichlow (fiance Kateria); one great granddaughter Averi Crooks; five siblings Elijah (Tim) Perkins, Elizabeth Perkins, Curtis Perkins (Lucy), Edith White (Roland) & Charmayne Austin (William) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, relatives and friends to remember and appreciate the life that he so selflessly gave all us.

*Due to the COVID-19 pandemic following nationwide social distancing all services are private. The family will host a Memorial Service at a later date with details to follow.  We appreciate your understanding.*
