Kimberly Ann Towler, a longtime resident of Long Branch, New Jersey and cherished member of the Millsboro, Delaware community, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024, surrounded by loving family after a brave five-year battle with cancer.
Kimberly was born March 21, 1965 in Long Branch, and was the beloved mother of Wesley Hernandez of Delaware and the adored daughter of Phyllis Towler of Delaware and the late Robert Towler. She was a loving sister to her brothers, the late Robert “George” Towler and Kyle Towler of New Jersey.
A proud graduate of Long Branch High School, Kimberly worked for the United States Postal Service and retired from the Lakewood, NJ office after more than 30 years of dedicated service. She was industrious, hardworking, and known to be a dependable colleague who brought her warm personality and diligent spirit to the workplace.
Her commitment to the community and zest for life was reflected in her diverse interests, talents and hobbies. She was an avid reader and found adventure and solace on the pages of countless books. Artistic, her beautiful calligraphy brought an elegant touch to the simplest of notes and as a gifted baker, she kneaded the love she felt for friends and family into every loaf of bread and batch of cookies. Kimberly found her greatest joy in the time she spent with her family. She was generous, not only materially, but also with her time and attention. She made an impression on all who knew her and the memories created during these precious moments are cherished by her many loved ones.
Although her passing has created a large void, Kimberly’s time spent on this earth was marked by joy and laughter. If you knew Kim, she always loved a good laugh, a chuckle, and if something was really funny, a cackle. All those who knew her are encouraged to honor her memory by living their lives with the same love, positivity and generosity that Kimberly embodied, and allow her many life lessons to be a continued source of inspiration.
Kimberly is predeceased by her father, Robert Towler and brother, George Towler.
Kimberly is survived by her son, Wesley Hernandez; mother, Phyllis Towler; brother, Kyle Towler and his wife Jennifer Jasmin Towler; sister-in-law, Roxanne Towler; uncle, Leonard Brooks and his partner Penny Mueller; niece Danielle Croasdale and her husband Jeffrey; niece, Olivia Towler; nephew, Christopher Towler; great-nephews Vincent, Eric and James Croasdale, and many cousins, friends and extended family members.
The Towler family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the medical staff at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, Delaware and Memorial Sloan Kettering for the tireless care, support and kindness they showed to Kimberly and her family during this difficult time.
I didn’t know her funeral was today my sincere condolence to her mom and family
My heart is broken…and I am so mad at myself for not knowing you were ill. My Kimber, my Ber, my Maid-of-Honor! Soooo many memories and that is all I have left to draw from. I am so sorry my friend for allowing time, distance, and stupidity to steal our friendship. I know you are in heaven because you were an angel here on earth. Your laughter, kindness, wit, thoughtfulness, beauty inside and out will never be forgotten! I love you!
