Larry Donnell Gooding 70 of Neptune, formerly of Red Bank, departed this life on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.  Larry was born on December 30, 1949 to the late Harold E. Gooding Sr. and Penny M. Kornegay Gooding in Jones County, North Carolina.  Larry received his early education from the Jones County school system.  His family relocated to New Jersey where he attended and graduated from Red Bank High School.  After graduating he enlisted in the United States Air Force and received an Honorable Discharge.  He became employed by Perth Amboy Hospital as Captain of Security, Rahway State Prison and Seals Eastern.  In his youth he enjoyed getting a game of basketball in with his brothers and the local Red Bank boys at the athletic field.  Larry was an avid football and basketball fan who enjoyed spending quality time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family members.

Larry was predeceased by both of his parents the late Harold E. Gooding Sr. and Penney M. Kornegay Gooding, one sister Hannah Ali and one brother Harold E. Gooding Jr.

Larry leaves to cherish his memory his lifelong companion of 51 years Dawn C. Davis of Neptune; three children Tikeisha J. Robinson (Roderick) of CA, Dauvon W. Davis (Christy) of NJ, Bruce D. Gooding (Larissa) of NJ; three brothers Darris (Alva) of CA, Curtis (Tammy) of NJ and Jeffrey of SC; four sisters Gwen (Floyd) of JA, Celeste of NC, Tameika of NC and Landrana of FL; sixteen grandchildren Darin, Tikeisha, Jahil, Lekayla, Ruby, Kayzin, Kye, Tatiana, Kaymir, Dauvona, Xia, Madison, Bruce II, Harper, Pasa & Anyssa; seven great-grandchildren; one uncle Louis Kornegay; two aunts Lena Walker and Thelma Gooding; a special niece Rozlyn and a host of loving relatives & friends.

During our time of loss The Gooding and Davis families would like to sincerely thank everyone for your outpouring expressions of love by way of prayer, visitation, phone calls, texts, Facebook etc.

We are forever grateful!
