Laura Elyse Carter (Dot) was born April 13, 1930 in Matawan, NJ to McLloyd Hedgepeth and Alice Debroah in North Carolina.  She graduated from Matawan High School in 1947.  On September 12, 1950 she married Charles Albert Carter.

Laura received Christ at an early age and was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Matawan, and the Second Baptist Church of Keyport.  She was acknowledged for her years of service as a Missionary on August 22, 2015.

Laura was predeceased by her husband Charles A. Carter and her son Charles A. Carter II.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children Wanda M. Rogers (Joel), Camille A. Carter, Tracey D. Carter, and Laura D. Carter; grandson Tyler B. Coppin-Carter; son-in-law Joel Rogers; daughter-in-laws Linda Carter and Deborah Armenio and a host of family and friends.
