OBITUARY
SERVICE DETAILS
Martha Lee Jackson, a beacon of light and love who graced this world on February 28, 1929, to George and Sallie Dixon in Durham, North Carolina. Martha departed us on July 5, 2024. She was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend whose presence brought joy to all who knew her. Martha was known for her grace and kindness. She was raised in a close-knit family that instilled in her the values of compassion, integrity, and perseverance. Martha's warmth and generosity knew no boundaries, and her gentle spirit touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
Throughout her life, Martha was a devoted wife to her beloved husband (Charles A. Jackson Sr.), a nurturing mother to 12 children, and a loyal friend to many. She found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was getting on the bus on Saturday morning and having breakfast @ Texas Lunch, to doing a little shopping in Perth Amboy, NJ. She loved spending time with family and sharing laughs with friends over a cup of tea. And most importantly she served the Lord @ Matawan Baptist Church where she was a lifelong member and Usher.
Martha also worked at Bayshore Hospital for over 25 years.
As we bid farewell to our mother, we take comfort in knowing that her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her legacy of love, kindness, and compassion will continue to inspire us all.
Martha is predeceased by her husband Charles A. Jackson Sr., her parents George and Sallie Dixon, two sisters Doris Dixon and Ursel Royster, one brother John Moore, and 6 of her children Daryl Jackson, Richard Jackson Sr., Barry Jackson, Theresa Brown, Sharon Jackson, and Charles L. Jackson II.
Martha is survived by six of her children Joann Moore, Linda Garraway, Stewart C. Jackson, Deborah Trent (Anthony), Charlene Jackson, and Dana Jackson; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
