OBITUARY
SERVICE DETAILS
Mary L. Stewart 83 of Ocean, NJ received her heavenly wings on Wednesday September 24, 2025, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ.
Mary was born in Union, South Carolina to John and Bessie (Gore) Stewart on May 31, 1942. She was a kind, generous and sweet person who was a very fashionable dresser. Mary was always the picture of beauty and sophistication. She enjoyed listening to jazz and loved the music from the 50’s and 60’s. Most would agree that Mary was a talented person who had an artistic ability that she would highlight in painting pictures and crocheting. She was an excellent cook as well and loved taking walks on the boardwalk in Asbury Park and Atlantic City.
Mary began her professional career as a receptionist for the Army at Fort Dix, NJ. She assisted in the processing of new recruits entering the armed forces. She left that position to pursue working for the Department of Defense at Ft. Monmouth, NJ. She was hired at that position as a Division Chief’s Secretary. She occupied the position for 35 years until she retired. In later years, Mary’s favorite place to be in the morning was at the computer sipping on a cup of coffee. She was always inquisitive about the news and world affairs.
Mary accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior several years ago. She enjoyed hearing the preaching of the gospel. Mary periodically attended church and sometimes listened to services on television as her health declined.
Mary is predeceased by her parents. She is survived by her partner Ron Robinson of Ocean, NJ; her daughter Constance Stewart of Philadelphia, PA; brother John Stewart of Willingboro, NJ and a host of other family and friends.
