SERVICE DETAILS
Mary Ann Ray Towler, 84, of Eatontown, passed away at home on June 27, 2023 after a brave battle with cancer. She was born September 13, 1938 in Long Branch, New Jersey to the late Wesley Ray and Cornelia Hurley Ray. Mary lived a long life with good sense and humor, dignity, graciousness and compassion.
Along her life's journey, she learned the truth that the Bible teaches about God and His promises and symbolized her dedication by baptism as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1968.
Mary truly enjoyed helping others in many ways and was well-known and loved for her good character. Later on in life she would become an LPN, receiving formal recognition for “Excellence in Healthcare.” Throughout her life, she consistently displayed outstanding professionalism, a strong work ethic, and genuine concern and care for the welfare of others. This quality is deeply rooted in her 10 children, as Mary inculcated in them the value of sharing what they had with each other and especially those in need.
Mary loved watching Turner Classic Movies and Casablanca was her favorite of them all. She also enjoyed catching up on the Food Network, Judge Judy, and TMZ TV shows. She loved eating sausage pizza and linguine with white clam sauce. She was also very fond of baking and you always knew if there were any fresh blueberries in the house, she would make a delicious Blueberry Buckle. Without a doubt, hers was the best!
Mary is predeceased by her husband, William Towler, her parents Wesley Ray and Cornelia Hurley Ray, her brothers, Wesley and Joseph Ray, and her sister Evelyn Bacote.
Her loving memory will continue to be cherished by her children, Mark Turpin and his wife Rachel, Michael Turpin and his wife Berheata, Milton Turpin, Michele Towler, Marvin Towler, Marlene Hansen and her husband Robert, Maralyn Towler, Marisa Towler, Matthew Towler and his wife Tiffany, Martha Ann Towler; her sisters, Laura Meekins and Mildred Butler and her husband Karle; sister-in-law Phyllis Towler and her dearly loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mary was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and lovingly remembered in their hearts.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Worldwide Work of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (donate.jw.org)

No Words * Self Explanatory
Our mother used to tease that we children inherited our intelligence from our father when in fact she, too, was very intelligent. On the day that she earned her nursing credentials, she rightfully held her head high and we were super PROUD of her, too!
