It's with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Jude Tyrrell, who left us too soon on July 28th, 2024. He was born October 13, 1967, in Perth Amboy, NJ to his mother Claudia A. Tyrrell and late father, Charles A. Tyrrell. A beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, he will be fondly remembered by all who knew him. He fought valiantly, and we thank our friends and family who were by his side to the very end.

“Big Mike” grew up in Matawan, NJ with his 6 (beautiful, handsome, hilarious, and brilliant) siblings. He attended Matawan High School where he made many life-long friends and memories. Michael was one of the hardest workers on Earth and took great pride in everything he did. In fact, on his first day as a union laborer, he was told to slow down. He retired as a member of the Construction & General Laborers’ Union Local 172 of South Jersey.

He was a great lover of the outdoors and spent much of his life around a lit campfire. A companion of all animals, Michael took tireless care of his many furry friends, from rabbits to goats to pigs and beyond. He was also a life-long and passionate Jets fan, which was his only flaw. Between camping, tailgates, and spending quality time with his nieces and nephews, Mike truly lived his life to the fullest.

Uncle Mike left such an enormous impact on everyone who knew him. All his nieces and nephews are broken hearted, and have had such a wonderful time recounting the endless joyous memories we had with him. Generous, hilarious, kind, and tirelessly hard working, he will be forever missed and loved

  2. Regina says:
