SERVICE DETAILS
Michael Anthony Waters (Lewis) affectionately known as Pop was peacefully called to be with the Lord on February 3, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. Michael, one of seven children, was born on November 1, 1961, in Long Branch, NJ.
Mikey, as he was affectionately known, was raised in Red Bank, NJ and attended the Red Bank Public School Systems. Upon completion of his studies, he joined the U.S. Army honorably serving in the Gulf War and Peace Time from 1979-1992.
Mikey loved his family and friends and was known for his keen sense of humor and his joy for life. He especially enjoyed watching sports, dancing, listening to P-Funk as well as Reggae music and telling jokes.
He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and you couldn’t say anything negative about his Cowboys or you would never hear the end of it.
Mikey was predeceased by his mother, Gwendolyn Lewis, Stepfather, Hobart Lewis Sr., two brothers Anthony Samuel and Hobart Jr. and a sister Anita Morrison.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Nellie, two sons Mark (Raquel) Waters and Dayon Waters, a daughter Karla (Kevin) Walden, six grandchildren, Isaiah, Elijah, Jada, Adalina, Nehemiah, and Zoey and one great grandchild Laia Lynn, two brothers Donald (Vonnie), and Robert (Karma) Lewis, and two sisters Patricia Lewis and Hope (Eliot) Ramos and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts and friends.
RIParadise, Mikey.
