Raymond Jerome Farrow, Sr., lovingly known as "Curley," was born March 2, 1935 in Long Branch, New Jersey to the late Theodore Farrow Sr. and Blanche Gilder-Farrow. He departed this life after a brief illness on January 12, 2020 at Hackensack Meridian Health Ocean Medical Center in Brick, New Jersey with his family by his side.
Raymond always had a smile on his face. He loved the Lord and stood on his promises. He gave his life to Christ 30 years ago and was a member of Trinity AME Church for over 30 years. He served as a Trustee and Vice President of the Men's Choir. Raymond was an avid sports enthusiast who played semi-professional baseball. He was an offensive Line Coach for Pop Warner Football for 25 years. He also coached Little League Baseball and Special Olympics. He was recently recognized for his contributions to the community by the Pop Warner Association of Long Branch.
Raymond served his country in the United States Air Force. He worked as a Police Officer of Defense at Fort Monmouth for 25 years. Raymond received an Associates Degree from Brookdale Community College. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He often attended his grandchildren's sporting events. He loved to play Bid Whist, Pinochle and Spades.
Raymond was predeceased by his wife Mary McCray Farrow, his parents, his siblings Gilder, Theodore Jr., Edward, Julia Mae Longshore and Mildred Pickett; his daughter Frances Farrow Pickett and his son-in-law Johnnie Pickett.
He is survived by his children Gregory, Deborah, Tyrone, Frankie (Deborah), Pamela (George), Syeraynard (Valerie), Raymond Jr., Anthony (Lawreese), Tisharon and Keith (Joanne); special friend Bruce Chapman; 25 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
