Robert Earl Jones Jr. (Bogie) was born November 29, 1946 in Neptune, NJ to the late Robert E. and Sophie Jones. He graduated from Neptune High School in 1965. While in Neptune High School he ran track and cross-country track. Robert joined the United States Army in 1966 where he was an SP5 and received and Honorable Discharge on January 7, 1972. Robert worked for Bendix several years and Pathmark warehouse in Woodbridge, NJ where he retired after working there for more than 30 years.
Robert was well known by (Bogie) he was outgoing and nice to everyone and had a heart of gold. He loved his family and friends and was willing to help whenever he could. He loved to talk and tell stories and jokes to anyone who would listen; we would laugh even if they weren't funny and he would be the first to know the latest news before anyone, they would call him (google).
He had a special love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren they called him Pop-Pop; his greatest past time was spending time with his grands, it was the highlight of his day. He will always be remembered by all who knew him.
Robert is predeceased by his parents Robert Earl Jones Sr. and Sophie Mack Jones, his sister Irene Jones and his nephew Saahron Jones.
He leaves to cherish in his memories his wife Iona H. Jones, 1 son Deshawn Horsley of Atlanta, GA, 3 daughters Marion Morris of Neptune, Tawanda Horsley Sells of Duncanville, TX and La'Tacia Horsley of Neptune; 2 siblings Saahron and his wife Celeste Jones and Karen Jones; 1 brother-in-law Rev. John Jones; 1 aunt Ernestine Horsley; 1 God daughter Robyn Butler; a special cousin Jacqueline Taylor; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
