With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Ruth Robinson, our loving devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend on July 11, 2023, at the age of 94 years young. Although she currently resided in Queens, NY where she slipped into eternal peace, Red Bank, NJ was the place she called home for more than sixty years. She was faithful to the Lord while here on earth and attended Pilgrim Baptist Church until she could no longer go.

Born in Wilson, NC to her parents George and Channie Bynum, she was one of nine children. During her younger years she lived in North Carolina and after a while realized that she wanted to make a better life for herself and her daughter, so she moved first to New York and then made her way to New Jersey where she worked as a housekeeper until she retired. In time, she met William Robinson whom she married and had a happy life with until he departed this earth. They would fuss at each other at times, but they loved one another as family was most important to both of them. Ruth is loved by her family, so many people either called her Aunt Ruth or Grandma. She always embraced the friends of her grandchildren, daughters, nieces and nephews.

Ruth always wanted to work in the health field, so during her retirement she took a Home Health course and became a Health aide attendant where she helped others during their time in need. She truly enjoyed this work and was very proud of her accomplishments. She found it to be a way to serve and help others. Ruth was also known for her green thumb, she loved gardening and taking care of her plants. She was also an excellent cook. Her family craved her amazing “potato salad and sweet potato pie.”

She is predeceased by her parents George and Channie Bynum, husband William “Willy/Maisy” Robinson, sisters Estelle Dunican, Carrie Badger, Dazel Skerrett and Gertrude Bynum, brothers Rosco Braswell, Louis Braswell, Oscar Bynum and Sylvester Bynum and great grandchild Marc Anthony McCall.

Ruth is survived by her daughter and son- in-law- Dorothy and John McCall; grandchildren Sandra Y. Bynum and Reginald Blass, John and Colleen McCall, Terrence and Marlyn McCall, Anthony and Kari Mc Call; bonus grandchildren Frank and Kim Woods; 6 great grandchildren Alyssa McCall, Justin McCall, Jessica Bishop, Zoe McCall, Amayah McCall and Caitlyn Woods as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and countless family members who loved her dearly and her beloved cat Jeremiah.
