Susan A. Gilliard, daughter of the late Claude Gilliard and Lila Gilliard was born on January 19, 1963 in Long Branch, New Jersey at Monmouth Medical Center. She attended the public schools of Long Branch and was a graduate of Long Branch High School. Susie was a childcare provider for many years. Susie was a caring woman, who took pride in treating everyone with love and respect and never hesitated to help those in need. She was always willing to lend a helping hand for loved ones and strangers from near and far.
As a result of her beautiful spirit, her nurturing ways, sense of humor and her kindheartedness she was loved by many. Her positive influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Monmouth Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her father Claude Gilliard Sr., mother Lila Gilliard, brothers Claude Jr., Sylvester and Ronald.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her daughter Latanya Gilliard of Long Branch; four grandchildren Janiyah, Traevon, Isiah, and Justin; a lovely great granddaughter Zhuri; longtime partner Forrest Covin; brothers Kevin Gilliard of Long Branch, Mitch Gilliard of Neptune, Robert Gilliard, Donald Gilliard and Michael Gilliard of Long Branch; sisters Dottie Gilliard-Jackson of Neptune and Cathy Gilliard of Long Branch; as well as a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends the she adored dearly and would do anything for.
Honorary mention: Kristyona, Keyona, Michelle, Crystal, Tasha, Robbie, Nakeya, Dontae, Little Kevin, Reese, Jarett, Little Ronald, Mont, Conrad and Chevezz. Also longtime friends Ann and Joann.
