William Henry Hale III was born March 31, 1964, at Homer G. Phillips Hospital, the oldest child of the late William Henry Hale Jr, Celia Stovall, and Pearl L. Jones. William also known as “Billy” grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He enjoyed singing, loved hanging out with his friends, especially his friend Howard and his cousin Lee Kee during his teenage years.

William was in the military and held a position as a contractor, which led him to New Jersey where his first encounter with his long-time good friend/brother Joe Marshall happened. When he asked him where Neptune was, he thought it was just a planet. William went on to be manager for JCP & L and became a Preacher. William loved to preach the word of God, all his friends and family remember Tuesday night bible study and Sunday’s Church at Brandywine. William was a humble loving man who would give the shirt off his back if someone needed it. Anyone who knew him knew that his favorite line was “What in the Devil world.” William was corky and always knew how to make you laugh.

He is predeceased by his beloved granddaughter Taliyah Elizabeth Younger, his brother Charles Hale, his father William Hale Jr, mother Celia Stovall, Pearl L Jones, and his sister Felicia Hale.

He leaves behind his children Tara Hale, Christopher Hale, Jeremiah Hale, Leah-Marie Hale, Joy Hale, and Moriah Hale; his stepchildren Devon Pelzer, Dayson Pelzer, and foster daughter Glenda Lima; his grandchildren Christopher Booker, Jaden Booker, Josiah Hale, Chase Maxie, Brian Maxie, Bryson Maxie, Aaliyah Hale, Jamarion Hale, Jiselle Hale, Jeremiah JR Hale, Jaelin Hale, Jayla Hale-Owens, Raevynne Hale-Servis, Isaac Edmond-Araos, Terynn Pelzer, Winston Pelzer, and Devon J. Pelzer; his sisters Barbara Sydnor, Bobbie Hale and Celia Marshall; his brothers John Hale and Ernest Hale; two nieces Alesha Abernathy and Ariell Tillman and a host of other family and friends.
